Not all crowns are equal - each person will have a different hairline/hair type/density/thickness which will dictate how many dreadlocks you can hold in each row.

The table below shows the average/general assignment of locs per section.
Some people may only need 8pieces for two rows, but I always say it is best to order too many, rather than not enough. You can always add extras in with extension clips.

Generally, hair on the thinner side should have more (thinner) dreads with smaller sections*, while high density hair and thick strands can bare thicker locs with larger sections.

*Sections too thin or thick with excess weight can lead to scalp tension and discomfort - this is why it is best to leave the installation to the professionals until you are confident with how your hair holds, then you can try installing at home.
